Mexican Motorcycle Insurance, Why Buying from a Website is BETTER?
We asked one client what he thought of buying Mexico Insurance at one of the booths, gas stations, or roadside stands along the border.
This was Dan’s comment:
“I have vacationed in Mexico since the 70’s. Most vacationers plan their trip, drive to the border and then remember that they need to by car insurance …then they proceed to buy their policy at the closest roadside stand. This is like buying groceries at 7-eleven or ampm mini-mart… your choice is limited, and you don’t have any way to research the insurance companies that vend at the border. It’s hit or miss… the coverage is not standardized, you wonder what you just bought, AND many times you are asked to pay whatever the market will bear Fees! It’s just smarter to buy it before you leave!”

Also consider this: There is a LARGE difference between paper generated Mexico insurance policies and electronic Internet Mexican Insurance Policies.
Paper policies, are made in the age-old conventional manner, i.e. written by hand by brokers on the border and agents throughout Calif., TX, and AZ in localized insurance agencies and posted to Mexico.
Basically, an insurance salesman will manually fill out the paperwork, make a trip to the post office, and mail your policy to Mexico. In an attempt to reduce costs, it isn’t rare to see an office wait to send policies until they sell a substantial amount of them. This means that your insurance policy may be in line for a few days before it’s sent to Mexico.
Next, it can take upwards to a week for the batched lot to get past customs and make it to Mexico City, where nearly all of the major insurers are located. Then it is processed by your insurer’s system database one at a time.
Internet driven auto insurance is a far better method of quickly notifying your insurer and distributing policies to you quickly by internet site, E-mail or by fax so YOU BENEFIT.
The real question is what happens if you have an accident and the insurance company doesn’t have physical evidence of your policy within their system? What occurs if you have a bad accident on a weekend while most insurance offices are not open and the single company able to help is your insurer?
Since you need to stay at the accident scene and report all accidents while in Mexico, and most auto accidents are adjudicated within hours, having physical possession of your Mexico RV Insurance certificate, which needs to be verified by each insurer, is important.
