Holidaying at home this year?
The recessions is hitting hard on Brits this year as many are being forced to change holiday plans. The pound has taken a giant leap backwards over the past year or so which in turn means that the big family trip to America or the small break to Europe has had to be cancelled. This in turn is meaning that this year many British are choosing to holiday in Britain itself.
The worst thing about the pound is that it is not only suffering against the Euro heavily this year but also the dollar which of course will only start getting better when the government does something about it. Of course what everyone needs when going either to Europe or the USA or in fact anywhere is travel insurance and this is equally as important even when holidaying in Britain.
The NHS have all the medical problems covered so there is no need to take out any medical insurance which of course means that there are no excuses for not taking out travel insurance. Of course nobody expects something to go wrong on or before a holiday but sometimes it does which is why having travel insurance will protect you from any booking fees or anything along those lines that you would not usually be able to get back.
Why is insurance even worth the cash? Foreign insurance is far more expensive than getting out insurance here in the UK. Insurance does a lot more than cover you against any cancellations you may need to have. Just because you are sticking to the UK does not mean that personal items will not go missing or even worse get into the hands of a criminal making travel insurance useful as it protects you against loss of personal items. Be careful that your home insurance doesn’t already cover you from loss of possessions away from home though or you will be paying for the same thing twice.
So whether the trip this year leads you to Spain, Mexico, (maybe not at the moment) or Britain having some travel insurance is sure to benefit you in some way even if it is just to ease the mind from worry.
